Saturday 18 April 2020 - A Personal Journal Entry

An unedited copy of the personal writing of my mindset and thoughts from Saturday 18 April 2020.

These are my personal thoughts, exactly as written at the time and having revisited the entry, I felt that it was appropriate to share them.

I've not taken anything out but I've added links to more relevant information to help answer any questions that you might have whilst reading through.

Read through, don't read through, it's your choice.

It's been a while...

I've let things slip and slide out of control - not hugely, but enough.

I lost my morning routine, the 20/20/20, my Power-Down Hour and my bad habits crept back in. I wasn't reading, I was watching (mostly binging) for light entertainment with immediate gratification.

That is not the person I want to be.

I must be more strict with myself and my routines because I haven't installed these good habits yet so I need to be putting as much of my energy towards these things.

Author Steven Pressfield suggests that to overcome resistance, you must 'stay primitive' and don't think - just do. This is what will allow the shortcuts to success, mastery and happiness for me.

Perhaps I have too many strings still?

Perhaps I'm still in a state of Creative Dispersion? (Contact me for my definition)

Perhaps I have resistance to my focus because of this and it's due to a level of fundamental overwhelm?

I WILL COMMIT to defining my Highest Leverage Tasks and working with those in mind.

How can I love myself more today? Robin Sharma wants to know.

I think that if I can get a grip on my tasks and priorities that will help my productivity and will be an incredibly loving thing to do for my mental wellbeing.

I want to spend time today in deep, committed growth to an aspect of my life that, again, has high leverage. This will be an incredibly loving thing to do for my emotional wellbeing.

I will spend the time engaging with a yoga session because that will be incredibly loving for my physical wellbeing.

How can I pass this to my loved ones? What can I do for them today? I'm going to spend time with them all and make sure that I do one thing for each person that will make them smile.

Being different is another concept that the elites reside within.

I want to be an elite and I want to be different. I'm going to forge my path in my career and push the boundaries.

I'm going to find the rules and break them. I'm going to follow my master's advice and I'm going to do things throughout my life because I want to do them, not because other people want me to.

I will be different because I am me - The world needs more of 'ME'
Picture
Some simple imagery to show off my real power across my life.

Some dreadful attempts at images (I'm looking at you brain!) but I like the idea of taking my key affirmations, goals and traits and putting together a symbolic page of images that I can put up and visualise/understand in my own way.

The more I think about it, the more I enjoy this idea and this concept.

Sharma suggests to find the single behaviour that will play as a game changer for me but I genuinely feel that this idea is going to help.

This is a game changer in and of itself so I will review my Lifebook, update it and cartoonise the content for this ever-growing display.

For other accountable behaviours, I need a system of accountability and I need to look at an improved system for my tasks. This will help me become more accountable within myself.

How can I sustain my success and growth over a lifetime?

The passion must remain and I need to stay committed so if ever the enthusiasm dips, I will find a way to re-approach what I'm doing and work from a different angle or perspective.

This is an IF because I will make sure to fuel my life with clarity and intent so that eventuality never occurs.

I WILL COMMIT to developing more powerful habits and will elevate the standards set in both my work and in my life.

10 Points of Gratitude:
  1. I am grateful for these models of mastery being taught by Sharma
  2. I am grateful for the techniques shared to boost my reading speed
  3. I am grateful for my ability to detect an issue and work around it.
  4. I am grateful for my morning declaration to fuel me with success
  5. I am grateful for the generosity of my friends
  6. I am grateful for my ethical conduct for my friends
  7. I am grateful for the new blender from my parents to create my daily WildFit Alkagisers
  8. I am grateful for my understanding of Minimalism and that approach to life.
  9. I am grateful for the continuous value being excreted during this pandemic
  10. I am grateful for the opportunity to pivot and grow as a performer and as a person.
